If you graph out the words based on where the song builds up to the climax, the actual climax, and the decline “right” is juxtaposed in the same level of the quote as “found”. Ed Sheeran’s intended associations with the word “love” are uncertain however, the listener can apply their own meaning and feel a deeper connection to what the singer is …show more content… Nevertheless, the meaning in this particular case is easily inferred from the surrounding words as a synonym for “exactly”.

“Love” reminds me of warmth, happiness, and hope. It is the main theme of the song and the topic that this quote surrounds. I think “love” is the most important word in the entire song. In this quote, Ed Sheeran uses “found” to give emphasis to the inferable search and as a transition to the climax of the entire song. I think most people associate “found” with the feeling of relief or excitement. I associate “found” with the inevitable search for the person, place, thing or idea that the word is being associated with. “Found” usually refers to obtaining something that is lost or, in this case, something that has yet to be discovered. I think Ed Sheeran consciously chose the word “we” rather than proper noun because he wanted his audience to be able to relate to the song. Alone these words have their own associations and meanings, but strung together they form one of my favorite quotes …show more content… However, I think “we” is ideal for this particular quote because it is ambiguous, Therefore, the reminder of the words in this quote can be projected upon anyone the listener it to be applied to. To emphasize this line, Ed Sheeran leaves a beat between each word as he sings: “we found love right where we are”. The chorus builds up to seven words which are then repeated several times at the conclusion of the song. It is a musically complex and well written romantic ballad from the album X (Pronounced “Multiply”). My favorite song is “Thinking out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
